Golf District launches PricePoint, letting players bid for tee times

Golf District introduced a patent-pending feature called PricePoint that lets golfers propose a price for prepaid tee slots, with courses able to accept or forward the offer.

Golf District has added a patent-pending service named PricePoint, allowing golfers to submit a price for a prepaid tee time on the platform. When an offer is made, the host course can either accept it within ten minutes, creating a lucrative squeeze time, or decline and forward the bid to the original purchaser for possible resale. The system splits transaction fees evenly with the course, aiming to capture revenue from the roughly ten percent of slots that typically go unused.

Early implementation at Black Gold Golf Club in Yorba Linda demonstrates the model, and other venues like Encinitas Ranch have reported significant rate increases after adopting Golf District’s broader platform. Co-CEOs Kevin Kalner and Josh Segal say the tool flips traditional one-way pricing, letting market demand set values. JC Resorts’ COO John McNair praised the approach as a novel way for operators to monetize perishable inventory.

Why it matters

It gives golf courses a new revenue stream and lets players directly influence tee-time pricing.
