Goodwin Aged Care Services ordered to repay $1.39 million to migrant workers
Non-profit Goodwin Aged Care Services has been mandated to back-pay $1.39 million to over 300 staff, most of whom are migrants, for wage underpayments between 2018 and 2025.
The aged-care provider acknowledged that more than 300 employees received pay that relied heavily on non-monetary benefits, breaching wage standards. Additionally, 22 workers were mistakenly given afternoon-shift penalties. A court order requires the organization to repay the total amount of $1.39 million. Goodwin says it has already reimbursed staff where possible and is implementing measures to avoid repeat violations.
