Google launches Gemini Enterprise for Legal to automate law firm workflows
Google unveiled Gemini Enterprise for Legal, a bundle of AI agents designed to integrate with law-firm systems and handle tasks such as contract review and regulatory monitoring.
Google announced Gemini Enterprise for Legal, a collection of AI-driven agents that plug into the platforms where law firms store their documents and automate functions like contract negotiation, regulatory tracking and case-file searches. In a blog post the company emphasized that client data, model outputs and related information will be excluded from training its foundational models, citing the need for trust and precision in legal work.
The offering joins a growing wave of AI products targeting attorneys, including Anthropic’s plugins, OpenAI’s legal team led by Ironclad founder Jason Boehmig, and Microsoft’s own legal agent. Development involved input from lawyers at firms such as Cleary Gottlieb and Freshfields. Google has teamed with litigation platforms Everlaw and Relativity, as well as contract-management services iManage, NetDocuments and Docusign, while also aligning with Thomson one outlet, Harvey and Legora. Early market reaction showed modest moves in legal-tech stocks, with Thomson one outlet shares slipping about 3% and DocuSign down less than 2% after the announcement.
