Google launches its first overseas retail store in Tokyo's Omotesando district

Google LLC opened its inaugural store outside the United States on a Thursday in Tokyo, offering Pixel phones, Nest devices and exclusive merchandise.

On Thursday, Google LLC inaugurated its first official retail outlet beyond U.S. borders, situating the three-floor Google Store Omotesando in Tokyo's Tokyu Plaza. The venue allows customers to purchase the newest Pixel smartphones, Nest smart-home gear and limited-edition items, as well as pick up orders placed online and join scheduled events. The second floor is dedicated to interactive displays of Google's latest artificial-intelligence technology, and the basement offers on-site repair and support for devices.

Mauria Finley, vice president of the Google Store, remarked that the Japanese market is seeing swift and enthusiastic adoption of the Pixel lineup. The company currently runs ten Google Stores across the United States, including locations in California and New York.
