Google partners with Flo Health to embed menstrual tracking into its Health app and explore new wearables

Google announced a collaboration with Flo Health that will let users sync their cycle data with the Google Health app and lay groundwork for future wellness devices.

Google revealed a long-term alliance with Flo Health to integrate menstrual-cycle information into the Google Health platform, with a launch slated for early next year. Participation will be optional, requiring explicit permission for each data type, and the shared data will not be used for advertising or sold to third parties. Once synced, Flo data will sit beside sleep, activity and recovery metrics, and will be accessible to the Google Health Coach for users of Google Health Premium, enabling more personalized guidance.

The collaboration also envisions new wearable devices that combine Flo's women's-health insights with Google's hardware and sensor capabilities. Additionally, the partners intend to launch research initiatives targeting gaps in menstrual-health care. Google emphasized that users can withdraw consent at any time.

Why it matters

The deal brings menstrual health data into a mainstream health platform, expanding personalized care while promising new privacy-focused wearables.
