Google raises Google TV Streamer price by $50 to $149
Google has increased the cost of its 4K streaming box to $149, up $50 from the original $99 price.
Google announced that its 4K streaming box, the Google TV Streamer, will now sell for $149, a $50 increase from its launch price of $99. The revised price is already reflected on the Google Store and at Best Buy, whereas Amazon appears to still offer the device at the original price point. This move adds Google to a wave of recent price hikes by major tech companies, such as Apple’s recent increase for the Apple TV 4K and Amazon’s 40 percent rise for the Fire TV Stick 4K Max.
The price change arrives only weeks after Google raised the cost of its new Pixel 11 smartphones by $100 compared with the Pixel 10 models. Launched in 2024, the Google TV Streamer doubles as a smart-home hub, and its higher price reflects broader supply-chain pressures that have driven up costs for laptops, game consoles and other electronics.
