Google TV Freeplay adds on-demand library of 10,000+ titles and expands live channels

Google’s ad-supported streaming platform, Google TV Freeplay, now lets viewers select individual movies and series from a library of more than 10,000 on-demand titles, with examples like Lady Bird, Hell’s Kitchen and Seventeen Again. In addition to the new catalog, the service has broadened its linear channel roster to over 300 stations, introducing niche feeds such as World of Love Island, Yahoo! Sports Network, Bloomberg TV Plus and The Martha Stewart Channel.

This expansion arrives as major subscription services continue to increase fees, prompting a surge in free, ad-supported options. Freeplay joins rivals Tubi, The Roku Channel and Pluto TV in offering both live and on-demand content at no cost, while Disney Plus is reportedly exploring a similar free tier. Google indicated that the Freeplay lineup will receive further updates throughout the year.
