Gov. Josh Shapiro's campaign amasses over $60 million as election approaches
Governor Josh Shapiro has reported raising more than $60 million for his re-election bid, far outpacing his Republican challenger.
According to campaign disclosures, Governor Josh Shapiro has raised in excess of $60 million for his re-election campaign, including $13.3 million added since June. This gives him a sizable cash advantage over Republican challenger Stacy Garrity, who previously reported about $2.1 million. Shapiro has already donated roughly $5.7 million to the Pennsylvania Democratic Party, with $2.5 million of that coming since June, to support statewide races and a potential Senate flip.
He continues to spend heavily on ads and field operations, aiming to boost Democratic candidates in key congressional districts. Experts note that the surplus could be reserved for unexpected campaign needs or future political endeavors, though state law restricts direct transfers to federal races.
