Government reacts to sexual harassment allegations against AMEPIP director Ionuț Coș

The Romanian Government said the accusations against AMEPIP chief Ionuț Coș are very serious and launched two internal probes.

A wave of harassment complaints has emerged from AMEPIP, with seven women accusing director Ionuț Coș of sexual and professional misconduct. The government, through spokesperson Ioana Dogioiu, labeled the allegations "very serious" and initiated two internal inquiries, promising to release the results publicly. Dogioiu also clarified that Coș is not a relative of Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, countering circulating claims.

AMEPIP confirmed that a dedicated commission has evaluated the reports and forwarded its findings to agency leadership, while a separate disciplinary commission is conducting an administrative review. The investigations are ongoing, and no judicial bodies have confirmed the complaints yet.
