Government sets voucher denominations and delivery rules for second school-start grant
The second portion of the school-start grant will be issued as paper vouchers in denominations of 5000, 2000 and 1000 forints, with the same recipients as the first payment.
The government announced that the next tranche of the school-start subsidy will be provided via paper vouchers bearing serial numbers, barcodes, a distinctive watermark and anti-fraud elements. Recipients will receive six vouchers of 5000 forints, six of 2000 and eight of 1000, matching the list of beneficiaries from the first tranche, with shared-custody parents each getting half the allocation. The vouchers must be delivered by November 30, after which the postal service will try only once to hand them over.
If delivery fails, claimants can submit a re-delivery request through the treasury’s website, following the procedure published online. A comprehensive 74-point table outlines eligible school-related purchases and exclusions, such as golf clubs or water pistols, and explains how the treasury may reassess eligibility for those who missed the initial cash payment.
