Graham Holds Slim Lead over Andrews in Conservative Poll Ahead of Senate Race
A conservative-leaning poll shows Republican Sen. Darline Graham ahead of Democrat Annie Andrews by 1.1 points in South Carolina.
A recent Trafalgar Group poll of likely general-election voters in South Carolina puts Republican Sen. Darline Graham at 43.4% against Democratic nominee Annie Andrews at 42.3%, a 1.1-point edge. The survey of 1,087 respondents carries a 2.9% margin of error and reflects Graham’s advantage among voters aged 50 to 64 (50.9%) and 65+ (50.5%). Andrews performs better with voters under 40, capturing 59.7% of the 18-29 group and 52.4% of those 30-39.
Earlier polls from InsiderAdvantage and Impact Research also indicated a narrow lead for Graham. Graham, who won the Republican primary runoff after receiving Donald Trump’s endorsement and was appointed by Gov. Henry McMaster to replace her late brother Lindsey Graham, stumbled on a national-security question in an August debate. Some South Carolina Republicans have expressed frustration with her policies and governing style.
