Grammy-winning rapper Lil Durk faces murder-for-hire trial in Los Angeles
A federal trial began in Los Angeles accusing Grammy artist Lil Durk of orchestrating a revenge-driven murder-for-hire plot that mistakenly killed a relative of rapper Quando Rondo.
The federal case opened in Los Angeles with Assistant U.S. Attorney Daniel Weiner describing Durk as driven by vengeance following King Von’s killing. According to the prosecution, Durk commissioned a hit on rapper Quando Rondo, but the operation went awry, resulting in the fatal shooting of Saviay’a Robinson, Bowman’s 24-year-old cousin, near the Beverly Center mall in 2022. Defense attorney Marissa Goldberg contended that former personal assistant Kavon Grant arranged the hotel bookings, vehicle rentals, and purchase of ski masks, asserting Durk was not present or connected.
Durk has pleaded not guilty to stalking resulting in death and conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire. Co-defendants David Lindsey and Deondre Wilson also deny wrongdoing, while Keith Jones and Kacey “OTF Jam” Hester have accepted plea agreements and will testify. The courtroom was filled with supporters, including Machine Gun Kelly, as Durk, dressed in a gray suit, kissed his wife before the jury entered.
