Grand Seiko unveils darker Lake Suwa-inspired Evolution 9 watch with new Spring Drive

Grand Seiko’s latest offering, the SLGB007 Lake Suwa Black, expands the Evolution 9 collection with a darker, moonlit interpretation of the brand’s signature lake-inspired dial. The 40 mm case and 22 mm bracelet are crafted from high-intensity titanium, making the piece roughly 30 % lighter than stainless steel and bringing the total weight to 110 g. Inside, the Spring Drive U.F.A. Calibre 9RB2, launched in 2025, delivers ultra-fine accuracy of ±20 seconds per year through a hybrid mechanical-electronic system.

The watch’s design emphasizes legibility with broader, faceted hands and a prominent 12 o’clock marker, while a three-step micro-adjustment clasp allows 6 mm of wrist-size tuning. Additional features include a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, screw-down crown, and 100-metre water resistance, making it suitable for daily wear.
