Great British Bake Off returns with new judge Nigella Lawson and Cake Week debut

Series 17 of The Great British Bake Off kicks off tonight on Channel 4 at 8 pm, with a repeat on Channel 4 at 12.10 am on Thursday, September 24, featuring BSL interpretation. The opening episode follows the tradition of Cake Week, where new bakers face three challenges: a signature chocolate Guinness cake devised by new judge Nigella Lawson, a technical coffee and walnut cake, and a showstopper in the form of a cake self-portrait.

Nigella Lawson joins long-time judge Paul Hollywood, while hosts Alison Hammond and Noel Fielding return. Viewers can also watch a BSL-signed version on 4Seven, and a spin-off programme, Second Helpings, will air at 10.35 pm with hosts Jon Richardson and Judi Love.
