Great Southern Mining reports high-grade gold hits at Amy Clarke prospect in WA
Great Southern Mining's maiden RC drilling at the Amy Clarke prospect in Western Australia returned several high-grade gold intercepts, confirming the area's potential.
Great Southern Mining completed an 18-hole, 2,248-metre reverse-circulation drill campaign at the Amy Clarke prospect within the Duketon gold project, near Laverton, Western Australia. The program delivered several notable intercepts, such as 5 m at 6.71 g/t gold from 51 m depth, including a richer 3-m interval at 10.4 g/t, and other zones like 2 m at 8.92 g/t within an 11-m interval. Mineralisation was observed from the surface into fresh rock, extending down-dip by up to 50 m and widening higher-grade areas.
The prospect is situated 12 km from Regis Resources' Garden Well processing facility and aligns with the structural trend that hosts the Erlistoun open-pit mine. Managing director Matthew Keane said the results bolster the project's upside and that further RC and diamond drilling are planned, with additional work focusing on the northern and central parts of the 4.7-km trend.
Why it matters
The discovery could boost Great Southern Mining's resource base and attract investment in a gold-rich region near existing infrastructure.
