Greek gynecologist arrested in Attica for possessing child sexual abuse material
A 52-year-old gynecologist was detained in Attica after authorities discovered hundreds of child sexual abuse images on his devices.
Following information supplied by the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, Greek authorities arrested a 52-year-old gynecologist in Attica on Thursday. Digital forensics identified his online account used to upload child sexual abuse material, leading police to raid his residence and medical office. Officers confiscated a smartphone, hard drive, laptop, tablet and a microSD card, uncovering hundreds of illicit images and videos, including victims apparently younger than 15 and 12 years old.
Police sources note that there is no evidence the doctor created original child pornography. The suspect was taken to the appropriate prosecutorial office, and the electronic evidence has been forwarded to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations for laboratory examination.
