Greek university students join European housing protests with march and concert at Syntagma

Students from Greek universities are staging a large demonstration and camp at Athens' Syntagma Square on Tuesday, echoing similar protests in France and Belgium over housing costs and underfunded education.

On Tuesday evening, Greek university students will converge on Syntagma Square in Athens for a coordinated protest and camp, aligning themselves with recent French and Belgian student actions over housing affordability and education underfunding. The demonstration is set to begin at 18:00 and includes a call for mass participation to amplify the message across Europe. In addition to the march, the student camp will host a sizable concert, with performers already confirmed including Cilia Katrali, Kozmo, Ntavelis Fundracar, Otra Rota, Raibo, Alexandros Ktistakis, Aristea Adamidou, Dimitris Mitsotakis, Theodoros Theodoridis, and Rita Antonopoulou & Revan.

The event aims to unite student voices and draw public attention to the twin crises of housing costs and insufficient university financing. Organizers stress that the protest is part of a broader continental movement demanding policy change. The rally reflects growing discontent among young people regarding the cost of living and the state of higher education in Greece and beyond.
