Greggs reports record-breaking first day for early-launched Festive Bake
Greggs said its Festive Bake sold more units on its first day of the 2026 season than any previous single day, after moving the launch two weeks earlier.
Greggs advanced the launch of its seasonal Festive Bake by two weeks, believing British shoppers wanted a Christmas treat earlier than usual. The move paid off, as the first day of sales set a new record for the product, exceeding any previous single-day total in its 17-year history. Customer director Zoe Harris highlighted the early launch as a response to demand and noted the unprecedented sales could signal the most successful Festive Bake season for the chain.
The Festive Bake combines chicken, smoked ham hock, bacon, cheese, pork stuffing, sage and cranberry sauce, all wrapped in puff pastry with a crumb topping. Alongside the bake, Greggs introduced a broader festive menu that includes items such as the Pigs Under Blankets Toastie and Sweet Mince Pie Roll, plus seasonal drinks. All items are now sold in stores nationwide and can be ordered via the Greggs app, Click + Collect, Just Eat, or Uber Eats.
Why it matters
The early launch and record sales show strong consumer appetite for seasonal fast-food, boosting Greggs' revenue prospects.
