GSIS extends solar loan program to pensioners

MANILA, Philippines — The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) will open its solar energy loan to qualified pensioners today, expanding its financing programs for retirees as it observes National Pensioners’ Week. The Ginhawa Solar Energy Loan (GSEL) program helps active government workers finance the purchase and installation of residential solar energy systems. It became available in March 2026.

READ: GSIS returns P19B in loan payments as of end-August Under the program, qualified pensioners may borrow up to P500,000, payable over five years at an annual interest rate of 5 percent. The loan does not carry a service fee or application fee.
