GSK summons Belgian unions to extraordinary works council in Wavre

GSK Belgium called an extraordinary works council on Wednesday morning, inviting union representatives to its Wavre headquarters.

The company's spokesperson confirmed that unions were asked to attend a special works council meeting starting at 9 a.m. at the Wavre site. While the agenda was not disclosed, Belgian union members have expressed concerns about a possible restructuring within the biopharmaceutical group. GSK operates three major vaccine sites in Belgium - Wavre, Rixensart and Gembloux.

Why it matters

The meeting could signal upcoming changes to GSK's vaccine production network in Belgium, affecting jobs and supply.
