Police in Wellington County responded to a single-vehicle crash on Oct. 30, 2025, near Guelph-Eramosa Township, where an 18-year-old male died instantly and a 16-year-old male was taken to a Hamilton trauma centre with injuries that were not life-threatening. Nearly a year later, on Sept. 24, 2026, a 17-year-old resident of Guelph was taken into custody by the Ontario Provincial Police and charged with dangerous operation causing death.
