Guide to Voting in Texas's November Midterm Elections
Texans will elect a governor, U.S. senator, and numerous state and local officials on Nov. 3, with new congressional districts in effect after 2025 redistricting.
On Nov. 3, Texas voters will choose a governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, comptroller, land commissioner, agriculture commissioner, a railroad commissioner, and members of the state supreme and appellate courts, alongside all 38 U.S. House seats reshaped by the 2025 redistricting. Federal races also feature the incumbent U.S. Senate seat. Voter registration and address changes must be submitted by Oct. 5, while mail-ballot applications are due Oct. 23.
Early voting is available Oct. 19-30, and polls open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day. Voters need one of seven approved photo IDs, with alternatives for those unable to present ID. The state offers limited mail voting, curbside voting, and emergency ballots for qualifying voters, and provides tools to check registration status and ballot contents.
