Gunfire during Baghdad illegal-housing demolition kills army brigadier general

In Baghdad’s southern district of Dora, forces assigned to clear illegal housing were ambushed on Thursday. The exchange of fire resulted in the death of an army brigadier general and injuries to a police officer and four municipal employees. A security official, who requested anonymity, reported that police and armed forces quickly cordoned the site, and the Baghdad Operations Commander proceeded to the scene to oversee the response.
