Gunfire erupts in downtown Los Angeles, injuring German tourist and bystander
A shootout broke out in an alley near South Figueroa and West Francisco streets, wounding a German visitor and another passerby.
At approximately 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday, an alley between South Figueroa and West Francisco streets became the site of a violent gunfight. Three unidentified men arrived in a black BMW and shot at a male victim, who immediately fired back. The exchange injured the German tourist, who was returning a luxury rental car, and a second bystander who was bleeding heavily.
A McLaren parked nearby sustained multiple bullet impacts through its windshield. Witnesses, including Joshua Ramirez, rushed to aid the injured. The Los Angeles Police Department has launched an investigation but has not released details about the suspects, and the motive remains unclear.
