Gunfire interrupts post-game interview after Westinghouse Academy’s 35-0 victory

During a post-match interview at George K. Cupples Stadium, gunshots rang out, wounding two males and a female teen and halting the broadcast.

After Westinghouse Academy defeated University Prep 35-0 at George K. Cupples Stadium, a post-game interview was abruptly stopped by gunfire. Witnesses heard several shots, causing the players to turn toward the sound and some to flee the area. Two male teenagers and one female teen were hit and are now in stable condition at a local hospital.

Police chief Jason Lando said officers were already intervening in fights when an individual opened fire, and a lockdown was immediately ordered. The stadium had a substantial police deployment and metal detectors in place, but authorities have not confirmed whether the shooter was among the spectators. The investigation continues as police seek the weapon and suspect.
