Gunfire Targets Patrol on Karakoram Highway, Injuring GBS Soldier and Two Police Officers
A patrol vehicle on the Karakoram Highway near Sher Nallah was fired upon, wounding a Gilgit-Baltistan Scouts soldier and two SSU police officers.
On Sunday night, a vehicle belonging to the 116 wing of the Gilgit-Baltistan Scouts was ambushed from a hillside near Sher Nallah on the Karakoram Highway in the Chilas area of Diamer district. The gunfire left a GBS soldier and two members of the SSU police force wounded; they received initial treatment at Bashidas FWO Hospital and were later moved to the RHQ Hospital in Chilas. Chief Minister Amjad Hussain directed law-enforcement agencies to launch a swift investigation, locate the attackers, and intensify surveillance and search operations around Bashidas, Sher Nallah and nearby locales.
He also instructed local authorities to ensure the victims receive optimal medical care. The incident has not been claimed by any organization.
