Győr court upholds prison term for man who gave drugs and sexually assaulted a teen

The Győri Appeal Prosecutor's Office confirmed the 16-year sentence of a man who supplied a minor with his own drug and then forced sexual acts, maintaining the original ruling.

A man previously sentenced by the Székesfehérvár Court to 16 years in prison for providing a 2008-born teenager with self-grown narcotics and subsequently coercing sexual activity had his punishment upheld by the Győri Appeal Prosecutor's Office. The defendant and victim had a close relationship, often fishing and motorcycling together, and the victim first reported the abuse to a staff member at a drug-treatment facility. In addition to the custodial term, the court barred the offender from any occupation involving minors.

Why it matters

Upholding the sentence reinforces legal protection for minors against sexual abuse and drug exploitation.
