Haas Automation moves 73 California jobs to new Nevada manufacturing plant

Haas Automation, one of California’s largest manufacturers, is shifting 73 jobs from its Oxnard headquarters to a new 2.4-million-square-foot facility in Henderson, Nevada. The relocation, slated for completion by the end of the year, will involve assemblers, operators and machinists moving to the Nevada plant, which includes a lobby, demo room, event center and full production capabilities. Haas emphasized that the transfer is intended to enable future growth and does not involve any layoffs; employees are expected to continue working without interruption.

While the company had assured Ventura County residents last year of its ongoing commitment to the region, it is now expanding into Nevada, a state that offers a business-friendly tax environment and has approved incentives for up to 2,500 jobs over ten years. Vice President Peter Zierhut described Nevada’s climate as “more business-friendly” and praised the relocation process. Haas remains one of the biggest employers in its California county, with about 1,700 staff at its Oxnard base.
