Hamburg close in on signings of Fábio Vieira and Zakaria El Ouahdi

Hamburger SV appears set to complete two late-window signings, securing Arsenal's Fábio Vieira and KRC Genk's Zakaria El Ouahdi. Negotiations have produced a fee agreement for Vieira, reportedly around €9 million, and a contract lasting four years once his medical is passed. El Ouahdi has agreed to personal terms and received Genk's consent, with a medical in Hamburg pending and a five-year deal expected.

Sporting director Claus Costa, head coach Merlin Polzin and board member Kathleen Krüger have stressed the club's intent to strengthen the squad before the deadline. The moves aim to fill the creative midfield role Vieira excelled in last season and the right wing-back position that currently lacks a clear starter. If both transfers finalize, HSV will have invested over €20 million to bolster key areas ahead of the new campaign.
