Ahmad Fazli Mohd Yadi, who serves as Hannah Yeoh's press secretary, publicly rejected the authenticity of a document shared on social media that purportedly orders former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak to continue his sentence under house arrest. He emphasized that the signature shown is not that of the Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Federal Territories) and labeled the claim defamatory, saying he will file a report with the authorities.
The alleged order, dated Sept 18, 2026, lists signatures of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, the King of Malaysia, and Yeoh, and stipulates that Najib must stay at his residence in Taman Duta, Kuala Lumpur, pay all imposed fines, and face an additional year of imprisonment if he fails to do so. The issue surfaces amid renewed scrutiny of Najib's pardon prospects following a report that the Federal Territories Pardons Board will meet again after deferring the matter on Sept 11. Najib was convicted in July 2020 for misappropriating RM42 million from SRC International, receiving a RM210 million fine and a 12-year prison term, upheld by the Federal Court in August 2022.
