Hanwha Ocean Secures 680 billion-won Frigate Contract from Thailand's Navy

Hanwha Ocean Co., a South Korean shipbuilding firm, has secured a 680 billion-won contract to supply one frigate to the Royal Thai Navy, with all taxes, transport and related costs covered. Officials suggest the contract’s value could rise to about 4 trillion won should Thailand place further orders. This follows a prior successful partnership in which Hanwha Ocean was contracted in 2013 to build a 3,600-ton frigate, a project that was finished in 2018.
