Harry Kane eclipses Lewandowski with record goal tally for Bayern Munich
Harry Kane marked his 100th Bundesliga appearance for Bayern Munich with a goal against Leipzig, raising his league total to 102 and surpassing Robert Lewandowski's record at the same venue.
Bayern Munich's offensive focus has shifted from Robert Lewandowski, who netted 344 times between 2014 and 2022, to Harry Kane, who arrived in August 2023. Kane has been the club's leading scorer each Bundesliga season and recently celebrated his 100th league appearance with a goal against Leipzig. The strike lifted his German top-flight total to 102 goals, overtaking Lewandowski's 82 goals recorded at the same stadium.
The record comes after a challenging 2022-23 season that saw limited contributions from Eric Choupo-Moting and Sadio Mané. Bayern's fortunes improved, culminating in a title on the final matchday, and now Kane aims to extend his lead in the club's scoring hierarchy. Historical top scorers such as Rainer Ohlhauser are also noted in the club's record books.
