Harvard places campus on high alert after bomb threat near Memorial Hall

On Monday morning, authorities received a bomb threat targeting Memorial Hall on Harvard's campus. Police arrived at the scene and the university sent out an emergency alert at approximately 8:45 a.m., instructing students in the vicinity to shelter in place while urging everyone else to stay clear of the area. The notice emphasized compliance with police directions and awaiting additional orders from university officials.

A shuttle service that normally runs near the building was halted, and students were advised to avoid that route. Memorial Hall houses the large Sanders Theatre and sits between Harvard Yard and Zimmer Hall, making the threat a significant disruption. Officials indicated that the situation was being monitored and further updates would be provided.
