Haryana Police says 27 wanted gangsters repatriated through deportation and extradition

Haryana’s Special Task Force, led by Director General Ajay Singhal, announced that it has brought back 27 wanted gangsters from foreign jurisdictions, with seven deported or extradited in 2025 and fourteen in 2026. The operation uses a mix of human intelligence and technical tools, including analysis of counterfeit documents and fingerprint traces, to track fugitives. Inspector General Satish Balan highlighted ongoing investigations that have already secured the detention of 12 suspects abroad, with further extradition steps in progress.

Since August 2023, the state has issued 144 Look-Out Circulars, 54 Red Corner Notices, and 53 Interpol references, while revoking 93 passports and filing multiple arrest and extradition requests. A reward of USD 10,000 is being considered for information leading to the capture of four remaining fugitives. Coordination with police forces in Punjab, Rajasthan, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh enhances the crackdown on organized crime networks.
