Haryanvi singer Ankit Balyan killed outside gym in Uttar Pradesh

Ankit Balyan, known for his Haryanvi music and social-media presence, was gunned down by unknown assailants outside a gym in Shamli, Uttar Pradesh. The shooting took place as he was exiting the facility, and he collapsed with critical injuries before being rushed to a local hospital, where doctors confirmed his death. The incident followed a video he posted on Instagram only two hours earlier.

Police from the Shamli Kotwali jurisdiction responded promptly, securing the scene and initiating a probe that includes reviewing CCTV recordings from the area. Investigators said the exact motive remains unclear pending further evidence. Balyan, originally from Bantikhera, had risen to fame with tracks like "Bhari Court Mein Goli Maarenge Meri Jaan" and was reportedly preparing to contest the forthcoming District Panchayat elections.
