Haverford College president condemns professor's alleged antisemitic online harassment

Haverford College President Wendy Raymond expressed outrage after associate professor Guangtian Ha was arrested on charges of online harassment and intimidation targeting a Jewish individual.

Wendy Raymond, president of Haverford College, voiced deep distress and anger over alleged antisemitic harassment by associate professor Guangtian Ha. Ha, who was on sabbatical and not teaching this academic year, has been put on administrative leave and excluded from campus as legal proceedings move forward. Federal prosecutors allege he operated at least four anonymous social-media accounts, sending about 50 hostile messages to a Jewish Israeli professor from October 2025 through May 2026, using slurs, threats and personal details such as the victim’s address.

The indictment notes he employed VPNs to mask his IP address and posted further hateful content about the victim’s family. The college says a representative has contacted the targeted individual to address the “heinous online attacks.” Raymond called the behavior antithetical to Haverford’s values.
