Hayden Panettiere’s death ruled accidental overdose

Hayden Panettiere was found unresponsive in a Greenville, South Carolina apartment on August 16 and could not be revived despite advanced cardiac life support. The Greenville County Coroner’s Office ruled the death accidental, citing toxic levels of fentanyl and prescription medications including alprazolam, methocarbamol and quetiapine, and noted no injuries that could have contributed to her death or suspicious circumstances.

A celebration of life for Panettiere is scheduled at a Malibu church, with her father and several celebrity friends attending while her estranged mother and former boyfriend were excluded. Earlier, Brian Hickerson was briefly handcuffed after a bar altercation in Greenville and released without charges, and his brother Zach was taken into custody for disorderly conduct.
