Haze forces Transport Minister Anthony Loke to wait two hours before departing for Johor
Transport Minister Anthony Loke was stranded on a Kuala Lumpur International Airport flight for about two hours because haze reduced visibility at Senai Airport.
Anthony Loke arrived at Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 7.15 a.m. and boarded his flight at 8 a.m. The plane was scheduled to fly to Senai, Johor, but haze over the region lowered visibility to 1.9 km, accompanied by mist and high humidity, preventing take-off. As a result, Loke stayed on the aircraft for about two hours before the flight could depart. He clarified that the postponement stemmed from weather conditions, not any aircraft malfunction.
Loke was headed to the Port of Tanjung Pelepas for an official function. The Johor Meteorological Office, which monitors aviation weather at Senai International Airport, reported the reduced visibility that disrupted operations.
