HD Hyundai unveils new gas carrier technologies at Gastech 2026 in Bangkok
HD Hyundai is presenting its latest LNG, CO₂ carrier and floating storage solutions at Gastech 2026, the global gas expo in Bangkok, Thailand.
At Gastech 2026, the world’s largest gas exhibition in Bangkok, HD Hyundai and its five affiliates will display a range of gas carrier technologies, from LNG ships to floating storage and regasification units and CO₂ carriers. Chairman Chung Ki-sun and HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering CEO Kim Hyung-kwan will join executives from sales, R&D and engineering to engage with global shipping firms and classification societies.
The firm has scheduled 30 official activities, such as certification reviews and partnership deals, including a drawing appraisal by Lloyd’s Register of an LNG carrier featuring bow-deck crew quarters to accommodate wind-assist propulsion. Additional certifications will address new Type C gas tanks, hybrid electric drives, and an AI-based engine-optimization tool. HD Hyundai will also sign an MoU with ABS and Siemens to develop digital-twin safety assessments for ammonia-fuelled vessels and will present a three-tank LNG containment system in collaboration with GTT and DNV for future BW LNG ships slated for delivery from late 2028.
