Heavy congestion and service disruptions hit Barcelona and Catalonia this morning
An accident on the B-10 ring road and multiple road incidents are causing several kilometres of traffic jams around Barcelona, while tram lines T5 and T6 remain out of service and some bus routes face technical or weather-related issues.
Morning commuters in Barcelona face significant congestion after an accident on the B-10 ring road near the port forced a lane to be closed, extending delays to four kilometres toward the Nus de la Trinitat. The B-20, C-58, B-23 and AP-7 also report slow traffic and stoppages, with up to 4.5 kilometres of jams on the B-23. Public transport is affected as tram lines T5 and T6 remain halted between Glòries and Can Jaumandreu, and the L7A urban bus in Sant Cugat del Vallès runs with irregular intervals because of a technical issue.
The e19 express bus between Barcelona and Alella has temporarily omitted a stop due to bad weather, and the R4 Rodalies line recorded a 23-minute delay early in the morning. Overall, the combination of road accidents, technical faults and weather conditions is disrupting mobility across the region.
Why it matters
The disruptions hinder daily travel for commuters and could delay work and school schedules across Barcelona and surrounding areas.
