Around early morning hours, a metal bridge on DN12A in the Ciobănuș area of Bacău county collapsed after a large crane, heavier than permitted for that segment, passed over it. The bridge spans the Trotuș River and is a key connection between the counties of Bacău and Harghita. No casualties were recorded.
Traffic on the national road has been halted, affecting the Comănești-Miercurea-Ciuc corridor. The municipality of Asău has organized an alternate route suitable only for light vehicles, directing them through local streets before rejoining DN12A. Authorities are now evaluating the extent of the damage and determining when normal traffic can resume.
