Heavy rain and strong winds expected across South Korea's coast and Jeju Island this weekend

The Korea Meteorological Administration warns of heavy rain and strong winds on the southern coast and Jeju Island through Sunday, with some areas receiving over 200 mm of precipitation.

An indirect influence from Typhoon Champi will bring intense rainfall to South Korea's southern regions this weekend. Jeju Island is projected to see more than 200 mm of rain, while its mountains could exceed 250 mm. South Jeolla, North Gyeongsang, South Gyeongsang and other coastal zones are also slated for significant totals, up to 100 mm. Strong winds will accompany the showers, and temperatures will range from 8-17 °C in the morning to 16-21 °C in the afternoon, with Seoul reaching 21 °C by midday.
