Heavy rain drenches Delhi-NCR, waterlogging spreads as more showers loom

Heavy rain battered parts of Delhi-NCR on Saturday morning, resulting in waterlogged streets in several localities. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has placed a yellow alert for light to moderate showers and thunderstorms, and forecasts more rain on Sunday, followed by a dry period through Thursday. Rainfall measurements showed 0.7 mm at Safdarjung between 11:30 pm Friday and 5:30 am Saturday, with an additional 1.3 mm recorded by 8:30 am.
Temperatures dropped, with Palam recording a minimum of 22 °C, three and a half degrees lower than the previous day, while Lodhi Road and Ayanagar also saw declines. An IMD spokesperson noted the likelihood of gusty winds of 30-40 km/h. The Central Pollution Control Board reported the air-quality index at 59, keeping it in the satisfactory category.
