Heavy rains cause flooding and landslides across Phuket province and city

Intense rainstorms have flooded all three districts of Phuket province, including the city, and triggered multiple mudslides, leaving vehicles buried in mud.

The deluge has affected every district of Phuket province as well as the eponymous city, with floodwaters and several mudslides reported. Social media footage shows cars partially submerged in sludge. Thailand's national weather agency warned that heavy rain and further flooding or landslides could continue in the southern region. The broader flooding crisis, ongoing since mid-September, has already claimed at least 80 lives nationwide, according to government figures.
