Helsinki police probe death of social media influencer after cosmetic procedure

Helsinki police announced the start of an inquiry into the death of 27-year-old social-media personality Olivia Oraksen, classifying the case as aggravated manslaughter. Criminal commissioner Juha Piippo reported that initial interviews have been conducted in a professional manner. Oraksen underwent a cosmetic treatment at the city's Plastic Surgery Center on 31 August, during which she lost consciousness following the administered anesthetic.

She subsequently died in Helsinki. Authorities are examining whether a physician or physicians acted with extreme carelessness, a charge that can result in imprisonment ranging from four months to six years. The investigation continues as police gather further evidence.
