Herbert Hainer explains Bayern's focus on Premier League signings

Bayern Munich’s 2025/26 campaign featured a striking trio of Luis Díaz, Michael Olise and Harry Kane, all recruited from English clubs. President Herbert Hainer confirmed to a German outlet that the pattern of signing Premier League talent is intentional, citing the league’s wealth and appeal as reasons many elite players compete there. He argued that to improve the team, Bayern must look to that market despite the high costs.

The club has also added Nicolas Jackson on a one-year loan and João Palhinha for a sizable fee. Hainer acknowledged that recent windows sometimes bypass the Premier League to secure more cost-effective deals, emphasizing the need to balance foreign signings with home-grown development.
