Heritage Scholar Warns of Islam-Marxist ‘Red-Green’ Alliance Targeting U.S. Institutions
Heritage Foundation senior fellow Mike Gonzalez told a House subcommittee that a coalition of Islamist and Marxist groups is seeking to introduce Sharia and sow chaos in the United States.
At a House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee hearing on "Trojan Horses," Heritage Foundation senior fellow Mike Gonzalez warned that Islamist and Marxist forces have formed a "red-green alliance" aimed at implanting Sharia law and creating disorder in America. He linked this coalition to foreign adversaries such as China and Cuba and singled out the Council on American-Islamic Relations, claiming it is tied to the Muslim Brotherhood and seeks to make the United States an Islamic nation.
Gonzalez also criticized the American Muslims for Palestine group for using Marxist rhetoric and supporting Hamas-aligned viewpoints, citing a 2024 student encampment at George Washington University. He called on elected officials to act against these perceived threats, arguing that the alliance fuels unrest from street protests to campus demonstrations. The testimony framed the issue as a national security concern requiring legislative response.
