Hernandez alleges Rodrigues grabbed his gloves during UFC Sacramento bout

Anthony Hernandez, after losing to Gregory Rodrigues by unanimous decision at UFC Sacramento, claimed Rodrigues repeatedly seized his gloves during the fight.

At UFC Sacramento, middleweights Gregory Rodrigues and Anthony Hernandez fought a five-round contest that secured Fight of the Night recognition. Rodrigues emerged victorious by unanimous decision, marking his fourth consecutive win. In the post-fight press conference, Hernandez alleged that Rodrigues repeatedly grabbed the inside of his gloves—he cited up to four instances—to secure an advantage, and he reported the infractions to referee Herb Dean, who supposedly warned Rodrigues.

Despite the complaint, the decision stood, and Hernandez accepted the loss as his second in a row. Rodrigues, after the win, called out Dricus DuPlessis for a potential future bout, while Hernandez said he would need to regroup.

Why it matters

The allegation raises questions about rule enforcement in high-profile UFC fights.
