Hideo Kojima moves upcoming game Physint from PlayStation to Xbox

Game creator Hideo Kojima has switched the publishing partner for his next title, Physint, from Sony's PlayStation to Microsoft’s Xbox.

Legendary developer Hideo Kojima has transferred publishing duties for his upcoming action-espionage game Physint to Xbox, departing from the previously planned PlayStation partnership. Xbox highlighted that the agreement will extend beyond games, encompassing joint film and television ventures. The shift is notable given Kojima’s long-standing ties with PlayStation, including the Death Stranding series.

Xbox chief Asha Sharma welcomed the decision, emphasizing the studio’s support for creative risk-taking. Kojima added that the collaboration will allow him to push genre boundaries worldwide. PlayStation representatives have not provided a statement.

Why it matters

The move signals a major platform shift for a high-profile developer, affecting console competition and future multimedia collaborations.
