On September 9, a hiker climbing Mount Yonah in White County, Georgia, found two sets of human remains at roughly 11:20 a.m. The White County Sheriff's Office promptly called in its investigators along with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, and later the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Region 8 Crime Scene Unit joined the effort.
